Snowshoeing is an ideal winter sport because nearly everyone can do it! how to use an avalanche transceiver, how to read a topographic map and use an altimeter and a compass, GPS navigation.

    Snow shoe week around Merano

    Date: 05 - 09 February

    Snowshoe hikers will find a vast network of trails and adventure-filled routes in the holiday region of Merano and Environs: from easy exploration hikes through the smaller side valleys up to a diverse range of circuit hikes up on the high plains above the tree line, with magnificent views of the snowy mountains. A hike up to see the Stoanernen Mandln is definitely worthwhile, as is a formidable summit hike up to an elevation of 2000 metres. The Meran 2000 ski and hiking area on the high plateau under Ivinga (Ifinger) Mountain and the pedestrian-only Vigilio Mountain, with its spectacular panoramic view, are ideal snow shoe areas

    Situated amidst the beautiful Southern Alpine region of South Tyrol at the borders of Italy, Austria and Switzerland, Venosta Valley is characterized by its unique arid climate, and by some of the highest mountains in the entire Alps. We will find a vast network of mountain trails and secluded tracks, many of which offer a spectacular view of the mountain range from the Ortles group, Sesvenna and the Oetztal Alps all the way to the Dolomites.
